We bought this for our daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. It is great for make believe play. She likes to build things to go along with it (which you will need a basic duplo set for). I love the barn and all the accessories. Everything is very well made, and she hasn’t stopped playing with it. When all of the other excitement for Christmas presents came and went, she still love this.
I think it is an exceptional value, after looking at other Duplo sets.

Our 2 year old LOVES this duplo set. Even his 11 year old Sister creates, leaves for school, and begs him “not to mess up HER farm.”

We are big fans of Playmobil, but for toddlers, we’ve found Duplo to be better than the Playmobil 123 toddler toys. Unlike Playmobil 123, Duplo figures can move their arms and hold things. (Unfortunately, Duplo hands are bigger than regular Playmobil figures’ hands, so they won’t be interchangeable when the kids graduate to big-kid Playmobil. I don’t know how they compare to Lego figures’ hands.)
We also have the new Duplo playhouse, and this set is very similar. You build the barn with the same connecting walls, roof pieces, and doors & windows that the playhouse has. (Obviously, the wall & base colors are different between the two sets, but that’s the only difference in the actual building pieces. The barn set adds some brown barn doors that can be used in place of the white ones.) All doors & windows open & close, once they’re snapped into place. The two sets have the exact same figures (grandpa, mom, dad, little girl, little boy), same table & chairs, same tree to build, same coffee carafe. I think this is a plus, since pieces get lost easily.
The tractor is pretty cool, with several attachments. My son (age 2) loves it, which makes the whole set worthwhile. I don’t know my farm equipment, but I’m guessing the attachments are a front-loader, a trailer, something for hoeing rows, and something with a roller on it that would smooth out the soil (???). The front loader can be lifted (no levers).
There are several animals: cow & calf, 2 sheep, mare & foal, oversized cat, and sow & 2 piglets, with 8 sections of connectable fencing. The Duplo figures can “ride” the horses (and most of the other animals, if they want!). There are two watering troughs and a nonfunctioning water spigot for filling the troughs. Several yellow & green Duplo bricks are supposed to serve as hay or alfalfa bales. As pictured, there’s a lift to get the bales into the loft (you turn the wheel yourself – no handle). A Duplo flower, shovel, pitchfork, and wheelbarrow complete the set.
My 24-month-old twins spent a long time playing with this set today. I let them play with it in a confined area so we don’t lose pieces. They enjoyed building towers with the bricks, opening & closing the windows, piling all the house-type pieces into the loft, and loading the animals into the trailer. Lots of fun! … and gave me time to get something else done!
