Every wonder what this issue is around the vaccine issue? The question to vaccinate is becoming an issue that is gaining a voice. Find out why in this interview with Dr. Humphries.

Many of you know that my husband made the early decision not to vaccinate our daughter. It was perhaps the hardest decision we have ever made. To this day, I am grateful for listening to that little voice that was uneasy about the vaccine schedule, for the people who were brave enough to speak up against the pharmaceutical companies (often at the cost of being attacked by these companies) and grateful for a husband brave enough to keep an open mind long enough to hear enough evidence he became supportive to not vaccine.

I recommend listening to this interview if you wonder why… there is data and evidence enough that some Government agencies are starting to admit that the issue needs to addressed!

Click here to listen to the interview with Dr. Humphries.

In this interview you’ll hear Dr Humphries talk about vaccines, including:

* Why she became concerned about vaccines after noticing kidney failure in patients who recently received vaccines.

* Why vaccines are often contaminated with unknown viral strains, and why the vaccine industry has covered up known vaccine contamination (and knowingly sold contaminated vaccines to be used on the public).

* Why the entire vaccine industry needs to be questioned, and why a new effort is needed to scientifically assess whether vaccines are really safe or effective.

* Why the fairy tale that “vaccines eradicated polio” is a false mythology — here’s what really happened.

* Why the “smallpox” vaccine has never been proven to be effective against smallpox at all. (OMG! she actually talks about the data showing that areas that were NOT vaccinated had less outbreaks! AND that the vaccine was actually cowpox virus, not smallpox!)

* Why vaccine industry research is extremely flimsy and ignores rigorous standards of scientific evidence. (Using improper placebos designed to minimize the appearance of side effects, for example.)

* Why the vaccine industry won’t test vaccines versus unvaccinated children (they’re terrified of the results).

* Why children caught up in outbreaks of measles are often the very same children who were vaccinated against measles! (HELLO!? Is anyone listening????)

* Why vaccines may actually suppress the immune system and cause increased vulnerability to future infections. (CDC data PROVES this!!)

* Why many childhood infections such as chicken pox are perfectly natural, normal and even HEALTHY. (Chicken pox vaccine is not a lifelong vaccine. We all know that chicken pox is WORSE when contracted in later years. If a woman contracts chicken pox when they are pregnant, it can be very detrimental to the fetus).

* Why the outlandish and unscientific behavior of the vaccine industry is causing an erosion of credibility across all “science.”

* Why many of the people engaged in pushing vaccines have financial ties to vaccine companies. There is a huge conflict of interest on boards that approve vaccines. Many board members approving these vaccines are allowed to hold major financial investments in the pharmaceutical companies and will financial benefit when the vaccine goes to market.

* Why the vaccine industry is utterly unwilling to tolerate anyone asking intelligent questions about the safety of vaccines.

Dr Humphries is one of the signers of the groundbreaking new document just released by the International Medical Council on Vaccination, called VACCINES: Get the Full Story: http://www.naturalnews.com/Vaccin

Smelling good is not always good for you!

My eye was caught today on the yahoo news feed and I want to share this information with you. Most of the information has been around, but I thought this was a pretty good and simple article to read. It is amazing how much trust we put in our regulating government and how poorly they have failed us.

It’s become so common in our culture to assume we need things – a lot of things. Over-consumption is not only a strain on our bank accounts and environment, it can also be harmful to our health. Whether there’s a warning label or not (usually not), many of the things we buy have associated health risks.

Here are ten toxic products, in no particular order, that you don’t need. And, once you read about them, you probably won’t want them either. Be aware that different homes may have different products that are more toxic than these. This is just a basic list of some of the most commonly purchased products that are almost entirely unnecessary, but pose significant risks.

1. Air fresheners: Most air fresheners mask odors with a synthetic fragrance or numb your sense of smell with chemical anesthetics. But, they do nothing to eliminate the source of the odor. Also, aerosol air fresheners spew out tiny droplets of chemicals that are easily inhaled into the lungs. Instead, ventilate well and choose natural deodorizers, such as zeolite or baking soda, which contain minerals that absorb odors. How to Freshen Indoor Air Naturally includes recipes for other homemade remedies. Plants are also helpful for purifying your indoor air.

2. Drain, oven and toilet bowl cleaners: Yes, three products instead of one, but they all fit under the category of cleaners – and these are the three nastiest. Corrosive or caustic cleaners, such as the lye and acids found in drain cleaners, oven cleaners and acid-based toilet bowl cleaners, are the most dangerous cleaning products because they burn skin, eyes and internal tissue easily.

* To clean extra-greasy ovens, mix together 1 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup of washing soda, then add enough water to make a paste; apply the paste to oven surfaces and let soak overnight. The next morning, lift off soda mixture and grime; and rinse surfaces well.
* Prevent clogged drains by using hair and food traps.
* To de-grease and sweeten sink and tub drains, pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down drain followed by 1 cup vinegar; let bubble for 15 minutes; rinse with hot water. You might have to repeat the whole procedure more than once. This same mixture can be used prior to scrubbing your toilet bowl to deodorize and scour away grime.

3. Canned food: It’s probably shocking to find a food item on a toxic product list, but it’s no mistake. Food cans are lined with an epoxy resin that contains bisphenol-A (BPA). Most experts believe this is our main source of exposure to BPA, which has been linked to hormone disruption, obesity, heart disease, and much more. Eden Foods is currently the only company with BPA-free canned foods (other than the canned tomatoes, which they haven’t found an adequate substitute for given the acidity of the tomatoes). Opt for fresh, frozen, dried or jarred foods.

4. Pesticides: This is a huge category of products, but they deserve inclusion in their entirety because of how extremely toxic they are. They’re made to be. That’s how they kill things. But, solving your pest problem may leave you with another problem – residual poisons that linger on surfaces, contaminate air, and get tracked onto carpet from the bottom of shoes. There are so many non-toxic ways to eliminate pests and weeds – next time you need to get on the offense, check out the recommendations at Beyond Pesticides.

5. Dry-cleaning: Okay, it’s a service and not a product per se, but the chemical used to do it, perchloroethylene, has been linked to cancer as well as nervous system, kidney, liver and reproductive disorders. Even bringing dry-cleaned clothes home is risky. EPA studies have found that people who reported visiting a dry-cleaning shop showed twice as much perc in their breath, on average, as other people. EPA also found that levels of perc remained elevated in a home for as long as one week after placing newly dry-cleaned clothes in a closet. A Consumers Union study found that people who wear freshly dry-cleaned clothes, like a jacket and shirt, every week over a 40-year period, could inhale enough perc “to measurably increase their risk of cancer” – by as much as 150 times what is considered “negligible risk.” Try wet-cleaning, CO2 technology, or even hand-washing.

6. Bottled water: Most people buy bottled water thinking they’re avoiding any contaminants that may be present in their tap water. For the most part, they’re wrong. Bottled water can be just as, or even more, contaminated than tap water. In fact, some bottled water IS tap water – just packaged (in plastic that can leach chemicals into the water) and over-priced. Also, from manufacture to disposal, bottled water creates an enormous amount of pollution – making our water even less drinkable. Do yourself and the world a favor and invest in a reusable stainless steel water bottle and a water filter.

7. Rubber duckies: How does such a cute toy end up on a toxic product list? When it’s made from PVC – the poison plastic. Banned in over 14 countries and the European Union, PVC, also known as vinyl, is still legally sold by U.S. retailers although it threatens environmental and consumer health at every stage of its product life cycle, according to the Center for Health, Environment, and Justice (CHEJ). When it’s in your home, PVC can leach phthalates (linked to hormone disruption) and lead (a potent neurotoxicant) – contaminating air, dust, and eventually you. Go PVC-free by reading packages and avoiding the #3 in the chasing arrows symbol (usually found on the bottom of a product). If a plastic is not labeled, call the manufacturer. Learn more.

8. Couch cushions: No, you needn’t get rid of all your cushions and consign yourself to a future of discomfort. Just avoid cushions, pillows, and anything with foam labeled as meeting California TB 117, as it is likely to contain toxic fire retardants. These chemicals migrate from the foam to dust to people. In animal research, these chemicals are associated with cancer, birth defects, thyroid disruption, reproductive and neurological disorders such as hyperactivity and mental retardation. Don’t worry about increasing your fire risk, data does not show that this standard has resulted in increased fire safety. Look for foam and cushions made with polyester, down, wool, or cotton as they are unlikely to contain toxic fire retardants.

9. Perfume and cologne: Colognes and perfumes may make us more attractive. But mixed in with the colors and scents are a wide variety of unattractive chemicals. Perfumes and fragrances can consist of hundreds of chemicals. Testing of Calvin Klein’s Eternity by an independent lab, commissioned by Environmental Health Network (EHN), revealed that the perfume contained over 800 compounds. Among the chemicals of concern is diethyl phthalate (DEP) that is absorbed through the skin and can accumulate in human fat tissue. Phthalates are suspected carcinogens and hormone disruptors that are increasingly being linked to reproductive disorders.

It’s not so simple to avoid phthalates by switching products because they are rarely listed on product ingredient labels. Phthalates are claimed as a part of trade secret formulas, and are exempt from federal labeling requirements. Find out if products you currently use contain phthalates and find safer ones on Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Searchable Product Guide website.

10. Oil-based paints and finishes: There are 300 toxic chemicals and 150 carcinogens potentially present in oil-based paint, according to a John Hopkins University study. Still interested in coating your walls and furniture with this gunk? I hope not. Look for water-based options – ideally those that are low- or no-VOC. You could also explore natural finishes like milk paint and vegetable or wax based wood finishes.

Do you consume artificial sweeteners over real sugar, thinking you’re doing your health a favor by avoiding the extra calories? Well be warned that although you may be fooling your taste buds, your brain likely is not buying it.

Do you consume artificial sweeteners over real sugar, thinking you’re doing your health a favor by avoiding the extra calories?

Well be warned that although you may be fooling your taste buds, your brain likely is not buying it. And if your brain is not satisfied, there’s a good chance you’ll go looking for another sweet treat later on, perhaps one that’s even bigger and more calorie-rich than the original version you were trying to avoid.

Why Artificial Sweeteners Can be Detrimental to Your Waistline

The belief that eating artificially sweetened foods and drinking artificially sweetened beverages will help you to lose weight is a carefully orchestrated deception. So if you are still opting for sugar-free choices for this reason, you are being sorely misled.

For years now studies have shown that consuming artificial sweeteners breaks the connection between a sweet sensation and a high-calorie food, thereby changing your body’s ability to regulate intake naturally.

In one study by psychologists at Purdue University’s Ingestive Behavior Research Center, rats that ate yogurt sweetened with an artificial sweetener consumed more calories (and didn’t make up for it by cutting back later), gained more weight, and put on more body fat than rats that ate yogurt sweetened with sugar.

Other studies, too, have shown that eating artificial sweeteners might hinder your body’s ability to estimate calorie intake, thus boosting your inclination to overindulge. Your body and your brain simply do not have the same biological response to artificial sweeteners that they do to regular sugar, and this can pose some serious problems.

Your Brain Can Tell the Difference

You may have convinced yourself that your favorite artificial sweetener tastes the same as sugar, but rest assured your brain is not being fooled.

In one brain-scan study by neuroscientist Paul Smeets, volunteers were given two version of a beverage, one sweetened with sugar, the other with a blend of artificial sweeteners. The brain scans showed that the artificially sweetened beverage failed to activate an area of the brain called the caudate nucleus, which is an area associated with rewards.

A separate study by psychiatrist Guido Frank at the University of Colorado in Denver also looked into your brain’s response to sugar versus artificial sweeteners. Women given a taste of the two said they could not consciously determine a difference. However, a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) of their brain responses showed differences indeed.

As in the previously mentioned study, the sugar activated the reward areas of your brain more strongly than the artificial sweetener, suggesting that the latter may not make you feel satisfied the way sugar would.

This is not an endorsement to indulge in sugar; rather it’s a major clue that your body is not being fooled by artificial sweeteners.

Artificial Sweeteners are Toxic

That’s right.

There are more reasons to avoid artificial sweeteners than just their impact on your brain and waistline. In fact, there’s enough evidence showing the dangers of consuming artificial sweeteners to fill an entire book — which is exactly why I wrote Sweet Deception.

When I first started studying natural medicine I did not know which was worse, regular soda or diet soda, but after careful review the answer became very clear that although sugar, especially high fructose corn syrup needs to be avoided like the plague, it is still less damaging to your health than artificial sweeteners.

Take aspartame, for instance. The phenylalanine in aspartame dissociates from the ester bond and increases dopamine levels in your brain. This can lead to symptoms of depression because it distorts your serotonin/dopamine balance. It can also lead to migraine headaches and brain tumors through a similar mechanism.

Furthermore, the aspartic acid in aspartame is a well-documented excitotoxin. Excitotoxins are usually amino acids, such as glutamate and aspartate. These special amino acids cause particular brain cells to become excessively excited, to the point they will quickly die. Excitotoxins can also cause a loss of brain synapses and connecting fibers.

Then the ester bond in aspartame is broken down to formaldehyde and methanol, which have their own toxicities. So it is not surprising that this popular artificial sweetener has also been linked to cancer.

A recent study also found a two-fold increased risk of a decline in kidney function among women who drank two or more artificially sweetened beverages a day.

This just adds to the growing list of serious health risks from consuming these toxic substances, which are deceptively marketed as though they are safe and even healthy!

Unfortunately, most public health agencies and nutritionists in the United States recommend these toxic artificial sweeteners as an acceptable alternative to sugar, which is at best confusing and at worst harming the health of those who take their misguided advice.

How to Address Your Cravings for Sweets in a Healthy Way

If you consume a lot of diet foods and beverages, it’s likely because you have sweet cravings (yet you think you are making a healthy choice by avoiding sugar).

Your body, however, may be craving sweets because you are not giving it the fuel it needs. Finding out your nutritional type will tell you which foods to ideally eat to feel full and satisfied. It may sound hard to believe right now, but once you start eating right for your nutritional type, your sweet cravings will radically decrease and may even disappear.

Meanwhile, be sure you address the emotional component to your food cravings using a tool such as the Meridian Tapping Technique (MTT). More than any traditional or alternative method I have used or researched, MTT works to overcome food cravings and help you reach dietary success.

And, if diet soda is the culprit for you, be sure to check out Turbo Tapping, which is an extremely effective and simple tool to get rid of your soda addiction in a short period of time.

For those times when you just want a taste of something sweet, my sweetener of choice is Stevia.

Stevia is a natural plant and, unlike aspartame and other artificial sweeteners, it is a safe, natural alternative. I prefer Stevia as my sweetener of choice. However, I recommend using Stevia in moderation, just like sugar.

I want to emphasize that if you have insulin issues, I suggest that you avoid sweeteners altogether, including Stevia, as they all can decrease your sensitivity to insulin.

Can this much fun really be good for me?! YES!

As a child, I had bouts of tonsillitis and sinus infections a few times a year. I was even hospitalized for four days at one point. I can say I was fortunate that I did not get ear infections often. So it was quite interesting to me when I was recommended a nasal spray with xylitol to help with the sinus infections. I was told that the xylitol created a slippery environment which the bacteria simply could not clump together and grow.

I did some research on the internet and found a study that xylitol gum chewed by elementary students not only decreased the amount of cavities to those that chewed regular gum, but also had over 40% less ear infections!

Then last year during a dental check up, I asked the dentist about fluoride in toothpaste, especially for young children. I had become interested in fluoride when I was told by a dentist who took my alagam (mercury dental fillings) out, that fluoride is one of the few things that can cross the blood-brain barrier. As I understand, fluoride will also chelate with aluminum and carry that into the brain. This dentist confirmed that there were MUCH more effective chemicals for teeth… I do not remember them all, but at the top was XYLITOL! I was so amazed that xylitol was recommended for so many things! Why are we not hearing more about this? What until you read what other benefits it has on the human body!

What is Xylitol?

Xylitol is a natural substance found in fibrous vegetables and fruit, as well as in corn cobs and various hardwood trees like birch. It is a natural, intermediate product which regularly occurs in the glucose metabolism of man and other animals, as well as in the metabolism of several plants and micro-organisms. Xylitol is produced naturally in our bodies; in fact, we make up to 15 grams daily during normal metabolism.

Although xylitol tastes and looks exactly like sugar, that is where the similarities end. Xylitol is really sugar’s mirror image. While sugar wreaks havoc on the body, xylitol heals and repairs. It also builds immunity, protects against chronic degenerative disease, and has anti-aging benefits. Xylitol is considered a five-carbon sugar, which means it is an antimicrobial, preventing the growth of bacteria. While sugar is acid-forming, xylitol is alkaline enhancing. All other forms of sugar, including sorbitol, another popular alternative sweetener, are six-carbon sugars, which feed dangerous bacteria and fungi.

Here are some wonderful benefits of using xytilol.

* Oral health, reduces cavities and periodontal disease
* Inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause middle-ear infections in young children. In two recent studies involving over 1,000 children, xylitolflavored chewing gum was found to reduce the incidence of middle-ear infections by 40%, significantly decreasing ongoing middle-ear complications and the need for antibiotics.
* Reduction in osteoporosis- The scientists speculated that xylitol’s bone density-enhancing properties are due to its ability to promote intestinal absorption of calcium.
* Insulin Resistance, Diabetes Hypertension, And Hormonal Imbalances-Xylitol has been demonstrated in repeated clinical studies to be very slowly metabolised. In fact, on the glycemic index, which measures how quickly foods enter the bloodstream, sugar is rated at 100 and xylitol at just seven! Xylitol is a natural insulin stabilizer, therefore it causes none of the abrupt rises and falls that occur with sugar. In fact, it actually helps in stopping sugar and carbohydrate cravings.
* Using xylitol instead of sugar, as well as reducing intake of high-glycemic, refined carbohydrate foods, helps to lower the risk not only of PCOS but also of ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, PMS, hot flashes, weight gain, and depression.

I have been using a nasal spray called Clear, Spry gum, Spry tooth gel (did you know that toothpaste by definition was both acidic and abrasive? Do either of those things sound like they are good for your teeth?). After reading this article Xylitol: Our Sweet Salvation? by Sherill Sellman (The SPECTRUM Vol. 4 No. 8; February 2003, p.23 — www.thespectrumnews.org), I will be replacing as much sugar as I can with xylitol. I highly recommend you read the dangers of artificial sweeteners in http://www.laleva.cc/food/food.html

According to www.snopes.com, although xylitol is safe for human consumption, it can be very harmful to dogs. (read more here: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/xylitol.asp)

After so many posts on the swine flu vaccine (almost posted another one on women who have miscarried after having the swine flu vaccine), I am happy to post some very positive information to you.
New research suggests that added sugar in their diet robs the creatures of 20 percent of their life span. Why does that matter? Worms and people are actually similar in the way their bodies handle insulin.

<img class="size-medium wp-image-178" title="gummy worms" src="http://passionparent.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/gummy-worms-225x300.jpg" alt="You an Worms Have Sweet Things In Common!
We were recently visiting family (to protect the uninformed, I have not included who’s family) when I was challenged about limiting the amount of sugar my daughter ingests. This person kept insisting that sugar does not affect her!

So, aside from the obvious-to-me side affect of her bouncing of the wall (totally denied by said relative), I decided I would share this interesting research… I had no idea I processed sugars like a worm…. eeewww!

(HealthDay News) — For a certain kind of worm, the sweet life may also be the short life.

New research suggests that added sugar in their diet robs the creatures of 20 percent of their life span.

It’s unclear what the findings mean for humans, but they raise questions about the impact of diets high in sugar, according to the study authors, who report their findings in the November issue of the journal Cell Metabolism.

In the study, researchers added a small amount of glucose — sugar — to the diet of worms known as C. elegans. The worms normally eat bacteria.

The worms had shorter lives, apparently because of the sugar’s effect on the worms’ insulin signals, according to the report.

One of the researchers, Cynthia Kenyon of the University of California at San Francisco, said the worms and people are actually similar in the way their bodies handle insulin.

“In the early ’90s, we discovered mutations that could double the normal life span of worms,” Kenyon said in a news release from the journal’s publisher. Those mutations involved internal signals regarding insulin, she explained.

The researchers noted that although the research is in its early stages, it’s possible that a low-glycemic index — one that doesn’t quickly boost blood-sugar levels — could boost longevity.

Scientists are already at work on related research, trying to understand how tightly restricted diets — in which animals eat much less than they normally would — helps them live longer.

Humans could conceivably try to do the same thing, but it’s impractical for many people to eat much less than their bodies tell them they should.

Meanwhile, as a result of her work, Kenyon has adopted a low-carb diet, giving up most starches and desserts.

Interesting, eh? So it is not all about diabetes, we all know that high glycemic, high processed sugar should be a sometimes treat… not an everyday snack! What are your favorite snacks you give your child? Love for you to share with everyone!

I love to take raw nuts and soak them over night (why? nuts have an enzyme inhibitor which allow them to say preserved until light and water are added. Not releasing this inhibitor makes your body have to produce an ginormous amount of enzymes to break those nuts down. Soaking them make those nuts more healthy). I then add raisins and sometimes carob chips…

Here’s to being a passion parent!

Christine

OK, one last question….. why do people feel so compelled to give children candy? The first piece of candy my daughter had was actually given to her around the age of 2yrs by her pediatrician! Why??? Do people think they can buy the child’s trust or love with sugar? Interesting! Next soap box rant…. the children’s menu at restaurants!

Are you Safe?

Are you still considering the Swine Flu Vaccine for you and your family? Frustrated by the fact you are not able to find the vaccine, but the media is telling you how bad things will be without vaccinating the whole country? Take a breathe, come back from the media coma you and many American’s are in under the subduction of our news media.

In the Global Research, October 29, 2009:

President Obama and his top health officials are engaging in a major public relations effort to divert attention away from whether its swine flu vaccine is effective and safe – to whether there is enough of it to go around. And the media, as always, is cooperating fully. This echoes the way media debate was manipulated during the Vietnam and Iraq Wars. Instead of debating whether we should even be fighting those wars, the media debated only whether we were using the correct military strategy.

Increasing numbers of scientists and doctors are issuing harsh criticisms of the Government’s plan to vaccinate (forcibly if necessary) virtually the entire U.S. population with what they claim is a poorly tested vaccine that is not only ineffective against swine flu, but could cripple and even kill many more people than it helps.

The CDC’s public relations campaign has been running “scare” ads that portray swine flu as a full-blown “pandemic” responsible for snuffing out countless lives, and which, unless stopped by universal vaccination, could kill millions of American citizens. But scientists and health officials throughout the world have called the governments claims unjustified and deliberately misleading.

For example, Dr. Anthony Morris, a distinguished virologist and former Chief Vaccine Office at the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA), states that “There is no evidence that any influenza vaccine thus far developed is effective in preventing or mitigating any attack of influenza” and that “The producers of these vaccines know they are worthless, but they go on selling them anyway.”
Read the Full Story From Global Research

Dr. Mercola goes on to add some interesting facts:

The last time we trusted industry and their appointed government lackeys about the swine flu vaccine, the vaccine ended up killing 300 times more people than the flu itself! It was 1976, and an outbreak of swine flu supposedly threatened the lives of millions.
But instead of the flu killing millions of people, it claimed ONE life, whereas the vaccine turned out to contain the real danger.
Twenty five people died from severe pulmonary complications after receiving the swine flu vaccine, and about 500 cases of Guillain-Barre Syndrome were reported after vaccination. Some 300 claims were later filed by families of Guillain-Barre Syndrome victims who died from the disease.
The 1976 swine flu vaccine debacle ended up costing the US government $3.5 billion in damages to some 4,000 vaccine injured Americans — a direct result of the CDC’s intensive vaccination campaign.

I for one will not be getting the Swine Flu vaccine, nor will my family. I would be interested in knowing how you are wading through the information you are finding about the vaccine. Please leave your comments and thoughts regarding the Swine Flu.

The Swine Flu Vaccination is a big subject and probably one with many sides and half truths. We may never know the whole truth, but there is (in my humble opinion) enough evidence out there to warrant caution in making the decision to give you child the vaccine.

This is a big subject and probably one with many sides and half truths. We may never know the whole truth, but there is (in my humble opinion) enough evidence out there to warrant caution in making the decision to give you child the vaccine.

This news came out in Montreal today on CBC:

About 100 Montreal health-care workers must get another H1N1 flu shot because the previous ones were improperly mixed.

One nurse at Centre Le Cardinal Inc. in the city’s east end told CBC News that on Wednesday she had to be vaccinated a second time.

Dr. Mercola has compiled a number of videos and information that I think is worth taking a look in this education process. He speaks about the CDCs own documentation that the people who have reportedly died of the Swine Flu, in fact died of a secondary infection:

…Nearly all of them, just like the CDC and mainstream media, use the statistic that 36,000 people die from the influenza every year. I actually wrote an article about this fallacy more than five years ago.

Interestingly that number has remained static as if carved into stone all these years.

However, the truth is that less than 1,000 people actually died from type A or type B influenza. The other 35,000 died from pneumonia. This is actually clearly listed on the CDC’s own website, yet virtually everyone ignores this fact.

There is a new Canadian study that suggests those who have gotten seasonal influenza vaccines in the past may be at greater risk for getting H1N1 swine flu. This information reinforces NVIC’s call for a comparison of the long term health outcomes of vaccinated and unvaccinated children. Interestingly, the 60 minutes segment acknowledges that many people born before 1950 have antibodies to the new H1N1 influenza and are naturally protected.

I have heard mainstream reporting stating that there have been no issues with this safe vaccine. However this video aired on Inside Adition and covered by many stations.

Another interesting issue in this whole issue around the fact that 99.9% of the people are not having any serious complications from the infection. If the people that are having serious complications also have a secondary infection, it would make sense that raising your immune system could have dramatic effects on fighting this infection. The great thing about that is none of these involve taking potentially dangerous and unproven vaccine interventions.
Your Immune System is Perfectly Capable of Fighting H1N1

Additionally what the 60 minutes segment failed to mention is that it is relatively easy to improve your immune response to fight this infection.

If 99.9% of the people are not having any serious complications from the infection, it would seem perfectly rational to believe that minor lifestyle changes could have dramatic effects on fighting this infection. None of these immune boosts involve taking potentially dangerous and unproven vaccine interventions.

Simple Measures That Can Help You Fight Illness

*Vitamin D has been well documented to increase the production of over 200 anti microbial peptides that fight infection.

*Eliminate sugar from your diet as that will impair your immune response
*Get plenty of rest
*Exercise appropriately
*Take appropriate supplements like oil of oregano extract, propolis, olive leaf extract, elder flower extract, acerola, DMG.

However you will need to know the above BEFORE you purchase any supplements on that list. Any company that informs you of the above will be in violation of US Federal law and a newly created Swine Flu Task Force has been given the authority to shut the business down and even throw owners in jail.

Violations of these new rules are being prosecuted even more aggressively than alternative cancer treatments. Earlier this week, Dr. Andrew Weil actually received an FDA/FTC warning letter that threatens jail time for failure to comply with the rules.

My gut feeling is there is enough evidence that this is not being covered fairly by the news media or our government. There is enough evidence for me that this flu is not as dangerous as had first predicted, but they do not seem to be willing to stop the forward momentum of the fear.

I have friends who strongly disagree with me and that is great. We have agreed to disagree. In the meantime, we had a great exchange of information and brought out questions and information the other had not thought of.

Some of the things that can affect you and your children's moods and behaviors are things we hear about often... food allergies. Some things you may not think of that could be affecting your child's behavior are things in the environment.

Yesterday I posted on processed foods. Charlotte with EFT4ADD left a comment regarding the reactions children can have to their environment. Some of the things that can affect you and your children are things we hear about often… food allergies. Some things you may not think of that could be affecting your child’s behavior are things in the environment.

One of the interviews in “Parenting Can Be Easier” I created, I spoke with Gene Monterastelli from EFTQandA.com. He speaks of some work where he was able to clear some allergic reactions a child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The child went from being diagnosed at functioning at an 18 month level to 5 years in two and a half weeks.

I believe that Charlotte with EFT4ADD also does this type of work and has had similar results. Me personally, I would try something like working with them or the allergy ellimination that Dr. Rapp, M.D. speaks of in this video.

Another great resource for looking at this subject is a book by Dr. Mark Hyman called the

The UltraMind Solution: Fix Your Broken Brain by Healing Your Body First

. I love what he says in the book about disorders… ADD/ADHD is not a Ritalin deficiency, depression is not a Prozac deficiency…. what we are seeing is a gut problem showing up in the mind.

I highly recommend this book for everyone, not only parents that have special needs children.

I grew up in the TV dinner age! We had TV trays, the big, hot TV and yes! the TV dinner. I used to love them… can you imagine!? They taste to me like a bowl of chemicals now! How is the amount of pre-packaged foods affecting us and our children?

Here is what WebMD has to say… I think there is even more to the story. What are your thoughts?

Eating a diet high in processed food increases the risk of depression, research suggests.

What is more, people who ate plenty of vegetables, fruit and fish actually had a lower risk of depression, the University College London team found.

Data on diet among 3,500 middle-aged civil servants was compared with depression five years later, the British Journal of Psychiatry reported.

The team said the study was the first to look at the UK diet and depression.

They split the participants into two types of diet – those who ate a diet largely based on whole foods, which includes lots of fruit, vegetables and fish, and those who ate a mainly processed food diet, such as sweetened desserts, fried food, processed meat, refined grains and high-fat dairy products.

After accounting for factors such as gender, age, education, physical activity, smoking habits and chronic diseases, they found a significant difference in future depression risk with the different diets.

Those who ate the most whole foods had a 26% lower risk of future depression than those who at the least whole foods.

By contrast people with a diet high in processed food had a 58% higher risk of depression than those who ate very few processed foods.

I had heard some great advice…. when you go shopping, only shop the outer isles. This is generally where you find fresh fruit and vegetables, the meat and fish departments, the dairy (stay away from pasturized milk products). Staying on the outside, you generally stay away from most of the processed foods! What do you think?

I would love to hear from you what your best healthy meal is that you feed your family!!
